Discover Our Country's National Scenic and Historic Trails
by Hale Sargent, Interpretive Specialist, Anza Trail
The Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail is not only a program of the National Park Service. It is also a proud part of our country's system of National Scenic and Historic Trails.
Like a National Park, a National Trail earns its designation through an act of Congress. Our National Scenic Trails provide an opportunity for outdoor recreation, conservation, and exploration of our beautiful landscapes. National Historic Trails commemorate a movement of people or trade that was important to the development of our country and culture.
